Graveside services for Walter Mack Harris, 73, of Newcastle were officiated by Darwood Weatherford, minister of the Church of Christ in Erick, Oklahoma.

Harris served in the US Army during World War II.

He and Dorothy Bolton were married 21 September 1942 at Lamesa, Texas.

He was a retired welder for Sam Stevens Incorporated in Lamesa where he was a longtime resident. He moved to Newcastle in 1985. He was a Baptist and life member of the DAV.

Survived by his iwf;e two daughters - Linnie Simpkin of Newcastle and Letha Kay McNeil of Grand Prairie; one son - William Mack Harris of Newcastle; seven sisters - Lucille Murphy, Louise Doerr, Loulou Harris, Lillie Mae Harris, Frieda June Harris, Grace Smith, Joyce Weatherford; one brother - Robert Harris; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
